“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Prayer: Lord we recognize that our faith is the very core of our relationship with you. We ask you to help us in areas where we struggle with our faith walk. We consider it a privilege for you to guide us and strengthen us. We also ask for you to keep us humble when we are feeling strong so that pride will not ruin us.
Set up: Faith is the core of a believer just as our physical bodies have a core which is the made up of an extensive networking of muscles in our torso that support our spine, stomach and head. If you physically wanted to improve your posture, look and feel better you would need to stretch, lift weights eat healthy and exercise the muscles that impact your core.
Take a moment to reflect on this reality: According to the Mayo Clinic in an article written to address the core one expert explained that, “core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and stability, whether on the playing field or in daily activities. Reflection Questions during Cool-down: How do you feel when your faith is at an all time high? Have you ever sought God with all of your heart and were stunned to find that He truly spoke to you. If you have ever or currently are struggling in your faith, why do you think this is? What do you think you could do to take an active part in changing this situation around? If you aren’t struggling in this area, what can you do to continue strong?
Today: Take active steps to build your core both physically and spiritually as the bible and modern medicine tells us of their importance. Being strong in your faith will stabilize you and help align your life in a healthy way just as strengthening your physical core will provide immeasurable benefits to your overall well-being.
Ask yourself: Are you stretching yourself spiritually? Have you been active in strengthening your faith on a daily basis? If so, to do this what measures are you taking?
