Warm-up Prayer & Scripture: Father God we are so grateful that we have your Son Jesus who came to earth, lived, died, and rose again after he died on the cross for our sins. Jesus showed us that that we can overcome sin and that we have someone on our side who understands temptation.
We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him”, but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2 3-6 NIV)
Workout: Jesus was the perfect example of living righteously as God in bodily form. Was he relatable? Did he really do life with others or did he spend all of his time at church singing hymns and reading scriptures? The truth is Jesus spent much of his time with those who outside of church were broken because he was setting the example of being a true servant. The church folk he avoided were hypocritical, as they didn’t even recognize The Word as He lived amongst them. In other words, they didn’t know the true and living God because they didn’t study His true form.
Reflection Questions during Cool-down: Are there areas in your life that are functioning but you’d like to improve in form? For instance, is there a closet that needs your attention to improve functionality, or perhaps a prayer life that needs tweaking to improve your relationship with God?
Take a moment to reflect on this reality: We can only improve on those things that we pay attention to and purposefully work on.
Ask yourself: Have I been studying God’s form? Have I been really studying my form in areas that I struggle in and want to do better?
Today: Be purposeful on the things that truly concern you and tackle them one by one. Be sure that God heads up that list.
